The Silver Scrolls

The Silver Scrolls

Most of us have heard of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the words of which were written in the eleventh century CE.  Did you know that the Silver Scrolls, discovered in 1979, date four centuries earlier?

The oldest copies of scripture known to exist are written on two small amulets worn as jewelry in the seventh century CE.

Skeptics doubt the book of Numbers existed during that time period, but the discovery of the silver amulet scrolls proves it did.   The actual translated text is as follows:

“The great..[Who keeps’ the covenant and graciousness toward those who love [him] and those who keep [his commandments].             The eternal blessing more than any…and more than evil. For redemption is in Him.  For Yahweh is our restorer [and] rock. May Yahweh bless you and keep you.  [May] Yahweh make [his face] shine…  (amulet 1)

May [he/she] be blessed by Yahweh; the warrior and helper and the rebuke of evil: May Yahweh bless you and keep you: May Yahweh make his face to shine upon you and grant you peace. (amulet 2)
