Dayenu: Passover Song

The Philadelphia Biblical University Institute of Jewish Studies Class of 2000 Music Team recorded a beautiful version of a Passover pastime, “Dayenu.”

Dayenu is a classic song that has been part of Jewish tradition down through the ages.

Translated to the English, “dayenu” means “it would have been enough” or “it would have been sufficient,” and the song captures the spirit of the Jewish people being grateful to God for all the gifts He has imparted: freedom from slavery, being entrusted with the Torah and the Shabbat, and many other blessings.

Had God only granted one blessing, it would have been enough, yet God has blessed the Jewish people over and over again throughout history. This song is ultimately a song of appreciation and gratitude for all God has done to bless the Jews.
