Data Protection

Data Protection

There has been a lot of concern about data protection and personal privacy. It seems that virtually everything we use daily is tracked in some way.

And there may often be a much bigger difference in the amount of privacy people actually have compared to what they assumed they had because of the data collected by companies from their personal use of social media and other things many people rely on to make our lives easier. It is okay to not want everyone to see everything that we do. Privacy is important, but I wonder how much of what we do would be different if we kept in mind that everything we do is being tracked by someone far more important and powerful than the CEO of any marketing company on earth for all times for something much more serious than marketing, and we can’t opt out of the monitoring or erase any any part of our activity history.

“For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, whether good or evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:14 “The Lord looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God.” Psalm 14:2. We often seem more concerned about what others may see and know about us than the fact the God sees all. Even if a company or spouse is not tracking your internet activity God is. Even if no one else knows your income range, background, and sex for marketing purposes God knows the interests of your heart and what your true priorities are, which reveal if you will enjoy eternal life. But God is not using all the information about you to use against you.

God wants to free you from whatever your negative habits are. “’Come now, let us settle the matter,’ says the Lord. ‘Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.’” Isaiah 1:18. God sees all, but God has no desire to use that against us. God wants to erase any data about us out of our lives that we are unable to change in our own power. “He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” Proverbs 28:13. We should honestly ask ourselves if we would do whatever we are doing in front of God, because we always are.
