In this video “Israeli Innovations That Changed YOUR Life” not only can you learn about Israel you will probably learn a few things about yourself as well. Without knowing it many of us benefit from technology produced in Israel. It is said that Israel is home to over 3,000 tech companies so it makes sense that some of the results of that labor would have an influence in other countries. As the video explains, since Israel doesn’t have a lot of land and other natural resources to use in trade like other countries, it focuses on tech solutions to make money.
Israel may not make cars, but they do make car technology to make the driving experience better. Mobile Eye is a device that is used to alert people of possible dangers while traveling to avoid accidents and it was estimated that over fifteen million cars use this technology. So even if your vehicle doesn’t use it, it is very possible that some of the vehicles around you do. So directly or indirectly this technology that someone you may never meet worked on probably made your life and the lives of your loved ones safer without you even knowing it. I don’t want to give too much of the video away but you will also learn about how Israel’s lack of water has also led to creative solutions that can also benefit others.
It is fascinating to think about how what one may consider a legitimate lack in a situation or experience can be turned around for good by resulting in an adaptation that can help many. And yet there is another application I would like us to think about. The Bible says, “Now there are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit gives them. Also there are different ways of serving, but it is the same Lord being served. And there are different modes of working, but it is the same God working them all in everyone. Moreover, to each person is given the particular manifestation of the Spirit that will be for the common good…One and the same Spirit is at work in all these things, distributing to each person as he chooses. For just as the body is one but has many parts; and all the parts of the body, though many, constitute one body; so it is with the Messiah.” 1 Corinthians 12:4-12
The gifts we are given or not given isn’t to make us better or less than others but are entrusted to us in the wisdom of God to serve others according to God’s plan for all of us. If you are tempted to feel bad because you don’t have the same gifts or resources that others do don’t doubt that God can turn even the things you think are weaknesses into a blessing for both yourself and others.
