A message from musician Matisyahu to parents whose children are in the IDF.
Hello there, this is Matisyahu. I just wanted to give you guys a message on this WhatsApp group for parents of kids who are fighting in the Israeli Army. I just wanted to let you know that we're here thinking about you, sending good wishes, prayers and admiring the Jews that are out there fighting for our survival.
I think it's been a huge wakeup call for a lot of us Jews in America this feeling that we've always sort of had in the back of our heads that we've heard about that at any moment the world could turn on you and watching adults like my father and people of his generation who may or may not believe in God or be religious but have this incredible passion for the land of Israel and what it represents and I think now for the first time all of us in the world understand perhaps how important it is for us to have a homeland and why parents would educate their kids to defend that land.
So we want to say thank you. We're praying for you and thank you for securing a place for the Jews. A place for us to exist when and all goes to hell. God bless you, God bless you.
