In this video you will see stunning views of Isreal while also learning about the sad event of Jerusalem’s destruction during the revolt against the Romans. The tunnels under Jerusalem provided safety and a route of escape for some of the people who were in Jerusalem at that time, which you will be able to see. You will also get to see some of the western wall.
In the Bible Yeshua spoke about the destruction that would come to the temple. “As Yeshua left the Temple and was going away, his talmidim came and called his attention to its buildings. But he answered them, ‘You see all these? Yes! I tell you, they will be totally destroyed — not a single stone will be left standing!’ When he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the talmidim came to him privately. ‘Tell us,’they said, ‘when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that you are coming, and that the ‘olam hazeh is ending?’
Yeshua replied: ‘Watch out! Don’t let anyone fool you! For many will come in my name, saying, “I am the Messiah!” and they will lead many astray. You will hear the noise of wars nearby and the news of wars far off; see to it that you don’t become frightened. Such things must happen, but the end is yet to come. For peoples will fight each other, nations will fight each other, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various parts of the world; all this is but the beginning of the ‘birth-pains.’ At that time you will be arrested and handed over to be punished and put to death, and all peoples will hate you because of me. At that time many will be trapped into betraying and hating each other, many false prophets will appear and fool many people; and many people’s love will grow cold because of increased distance from Torah.’” Matthew 24:1-12
It seemed that Yeshua’s believers viewed the distraction of the physical temple as the main thing they should be concerned about and look to as confirmation that the world was about to end, but Yeshua warned of a worse destruction than that, and that was the desecration of the heart and our ability to be the temple of God spiritually. “Or don’t you know that your body is a temple for the Ruach HaKodesh who lives inside you, whom you received from God? The fact is, you don’t belong to yourselves;” 1 Corinthians 6:19. When people are not really living in harmony with the Torah their hearts will be hardened against God and others and that horrible fate is one we should all strive to avoid.
