The last fall colored leaves touch the earth,
Another year is unswervingly ending.
A warm evening mist caresses my cheeks,
I cannot ignore our lives too are pending.
I'm reminded there's such a very short
Expanse of living for us to share.
Such a short time left to tell you in
Many ways how much I'll forever care.
To share quiet, tender hours away from
Others and society's paths,
To explain in a hundred ways,
My love for you will always last.
