Have a Long Life in Israel

A study from the University of Washington suggests Israel’s life-expectancy will be the 7th highest in the world by 2040 with an average life expectancy of 84.4 years.

Currently Israel in the 13th place with an average life expectancy of 82.1 years (JNS, 2018). This is good news for Israel. However, the is another source we can point to that promises an even better future for Israel and the world as a whole and we can know with 100% accuracy what it says of the future is completely dependable while this study might not be since variables such general lifestyle habits that projections may greatly depended on could change. But since God won’t change so we can be confident that one day life won’t just be extended, but that death itself will also be reversed.

The Jewish prophet Isaiah says, “Your dead will live. Their dead bodies will rise. You who lie in the dust, wake up and call out for joy. For as the water on the grass in the morning brings new life, the earth will bring back to life those who have been dead.” Isaiah 26:19. “He will swallow up death forever. Adonai Elohim will wipe away the tears from every face, and he will remove from all the earth the disgrace his people suffer. For Adonai has spoken.” Isaiah 25:8 When the Messiah comes life expectancy will be forever, and those whose lives were cut short will be restored. It is not a matter of what we do or don’t do. We can know for sure that God will come and keep this promise and the Messiah will come, but a lifestyle change is still required on our end in order to enjoy this because while everyone will live again, not everyone will enjoy it for long.

The Jewish prophet Danial wrote, “Many of those sleeping in the dust of the earth will awaken, some to everlasting life and some to everlasting shame and abhorrence.” Daniel 12:2. The dead shall live alright, but when we all are judged before God not everyone will be rewarded with eternal life some will be punished. So, how can we get an everlasting joyful life? The Jewish teacher John summed it up. “And eternal life is this: to know you, the one true God, and him whom you sent, Yeshua the Messiah.” John 17:3. In order to have eternal life we must know the one who is the source of all life-God. God is the source of all life but our sins are separated us from God and thus life itself. The Jewish teacher Paul said, “For what one earns from sin is death; but eternal life is what one receives as a free gift from God, in union with the Messiah Yeshua, our Lord.” Romans 6:23

We all deserve death but we don’t have to die forever, as the Jewish prophet Isaiah states of the Messiah, “…he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.” Isaiah 53:5-6. This echoes the words of the Torah regarding the principles of attornment “For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.” Leviticus 17:11. The blood of the Messiah makes atonement for us. We cannot earn life with our own actions or attempts at righteousness but because God took our death we can have God’s life, and not not just physical life but a new spiritual life we can start enjoying today. But we must be willing to accept and life that kind of life and it will be worth it.
