Easy Gain Easy Loss

Easy Gain Easy Loss

If you want financial advice the wise King Solomon once said this, “Money that comes easily disappears quickly, but money that is gathered little by little will grow.” Proverbs 13:11.

It is harder to comprehend the value of things that don’t seem to take a lot of time or personal investment - and it doesn’t always have to be money. Anything that we get easily is often treated with less care than what we put a lot of time into.

But just because we may have been able to get something at low cost or without much effort that doesn’t mean we should act as if it deserves less care. If you waste something you don’t have to work for you will end up wasting the money you do have to work for in order to replace it. So remember to ask yourself if you would use or spend or treat something that took little effort the same way you would if you had to personally work harder for it and treat it as preciously as you would if it did take more effort.

But regardless of as to how much work it would or would not have taken, if you waste something you are still being wasteful because in the end you are not being wise with how you use what you have. Even if you get money as a gift you could still set aside a percentage in your savings account. If you get a gift card for a store you can try to use it in emergencies and or for things you really need instead of just using it for fun because the extra funds are there.

Once we start to think about what is really important and appreciate the value of each thing we are blessed with based on what it is rather than how much effort acquiring it took it becomes easier not to let the immediate ease of our current situation blind us to wise decision and planning for the future. “The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.” Proverbs 22:3. We need to be prudent about what we have to avoid falling into pit of wastefulness when it is convenient. Follow Biblical financial advice.
