Healthy vs Unhealthy Dips

Healthy vs Unhealthy Dips

"I think it's very expensive to not eat healthy. Eating healthy is the only affordable option we have left."
- Marcus Samuelsson

I recently passed a large display of yellow jars in the supermarket containing Kraft Cheez
Whiz dip, one of America's most popular snack foods. I was on my way to purchasing the key ingredient to one of my favorite foods, chick peas for homemade hummus.

That was the moment I decided to do a bit of research for, and compare the nutritional values of each food.

Eat and dip. There is an addiction factor. One food contains a growth hormone (IGF-1). One food contains glue (casein, which results in the production of histamines and then mucus, and awful bowel movements) but enough about dairy...)

I am going to abbreviate. Hum is for Hummus. Chz is for Cheez Whiz.

Consider that in order to utilize one milligram (mg) of calcium, the body requires an equal mg of magnesium.

Each measurement is based upon 100 gram portions (about 3.5 ounces).

The Chz contains more than seven times as much calcium as the Hum (359 MG – 49 MG).
The Chz contains 0 magnesium as opposed to the Hum which contains 29 mg.

The Chz has 276 calories. The Hum has 177.

The Chz has 0.2 gms of fiber. Hum has 4.0 gms.

Chz has more protein at 12 grams – 4.86 gms.

Chz also has more fat at 21 grams – 8.59 gms.

Hum wins the carbohydrate contest at 20 – 9 gms.

Addictive? Both are seemingly so (bet you can't eat just one chip) but dairy products naturally
contain a substance called casomorphin, an opiate. You get no opiates for your money after
consuming chick peas.

"The reason many people in our society are miserable, sick, and highly stressed is because of an unhealthy attachment to things they have no control over."
